The second is the new 170 bhp 2.0 JTDm diesel engine that features a variable geometry turbocharger and delivers significantly lower fuel consumption.  Both new engines conform to future Euro 5 standards.

One particularly important development is Alfa Romeo's introduction of a new Eco version incorporating special technical solutions capable of offering lower consumption and reduced exhaust emissions without penalising the driving pleasure and sports performance typical of all Alfa Romeos.  The new Eco version is powered by the 120 bhp 1.9 JTDm 8v diesel engine.
