New Alfa Romeo 4C
The latest Alfa Romeo concept car, the new Alfa Romeo 4C, was unveiled at the 81st Geneva International Motor Show. This compact “supercar” represents the true essence of a sports car according to the brand values of Alfa Romeo. The new 4C offers performance, true Italian style and technical excellence all designed to deliver maximum driving pleasure and road safety.
This new concept follows the classic formula of the two-seater, rear-wheel drive sports coupé with an engine in the centre. At a length of approximately 4 metres and a wheelbase of less than 2.4 metres, the dimensions of the car serve both to emphasise its compact size and also to accentuate its agility.
You’ll find that some of the technology and materials derived from the 8C Competizione have found a home in the new Alfa Romeo 4C concept car. Aluminium, carbon, rear-wheel drive and engine technology derived from Alfa Romeo models currently on sale include the "Alfa TCT" twin dry clutch transmission, 1750 turbo petrol engine with direct injection and the Alfa DNA dynamic control selector.
The name “4C Concept” is suggestive of the sports driving pleasure which can only be achieved with the spectacular "4 cylinder" 1750 Turbo Petrol engine offering over 200 bhp. This is the same engine that is currently used on the Giulietta Cloverleaf.
Located centrally towards the rear of the vehicle, the engine in the new Alfa 4C concept car ensures performance which matches or exceeds that of a 3 litre engine. Plus, the Alfa Romeo 4C still delivers the moderate fuel consumption that you would expect from a compact, 4 cylinder sports engine. The powerful 1750 Turbo petrol engine and the "Alfa TCT" twin dry clutch transmission allows the new 4C Concept to reach a top speed of over 155 mph. Acceleration is impressive too as the new Alfa 4C can go from 0 to 62 mph in under 5 seconds.
