Volvo has been recognised as the most improved manufacturer for CO2 emissions by the latest JATO report; "A Review of CO2 Car Emissions Across Europe FY2010". Volvo has made a special effort to improve fuel economy and reduce carbon emissions during 2010.
As a result of the Swedish car manufacturer’s efforts, they have managed to reduce carbon emissions by 13.8% during the 2010 fiscal year. The report was put together by JATO, an automotive industry data provider. Volvo believes that their DRIVe Towards Zero project heavily aided their impressive improvement.
The DRIVe range is available in nine different models. The Volvo V70, V60, S80 and S60 all produce under 120g/km of CO2 making the models more fuel efficient coupled with a free 1st year rate and the road tax charge after this time is £30 per year. The Volvo V50, S40 and C30 produce less than 99g/km of CO2 making these vehicles exempt from road tax and the London congestion charge.
A statement from Volvo explains: "Volvo's belief is that economy should come without compromise. With this in mind, all of Volvo's DRIVe models have the same style, dynamics and practicality as the rest of the range."
Volvo may have claimed the top spot for most improved brand when it comes to reducing CO2 but their designers and engineers continue to strive for even better improvements. At our Lipscomb Volvo dealer in Kent we offer a wide selection of the new DRIVe range. Naming a few these include the 99g/km of CO2 models; S40, C30 and Volvo V50 in Kent.
