Expanded Alfa Romeo Giulia family goes on show in Geneva

Alfa Romeo brought its wider Giulia model family to this year’s Geneva Motor Show, giving motorists and industry insiders the first glimpse of the new range.

The new Giulia embodies everything that Alfa Romeo stands for today: a distinctively Italian design, advanced technology, energetic powertrains and excellent power-to-weight ratios. There are three new trim levels of Giulia, Super and Quadrifoglio to choose from, with an impressive amount of standard kit included across the range.

The no-cost innovations include an Integrated Brake System which premiers in the Giulia. The system combines stability control with the standard servo for enhanced braking performance and reduced pedal vibrations. The system also helps the car to achieve a record-breaking stopping distance as short as 32 metres at 62mph.

Driving comfort is improved by a patented new Alfa Romeo four-arm rear suspension set up which is complemented by a new double-wishbone front suspension. Together they smooth out bumps in the road for a more relaxing time travelling on uneven road surfaces.

Helping the car to its impressive power-to-weight ratio is a selection of four all-aluminium engines. The two petrol and two diesel units range from 148bhp to 503bhp, with the most powerful being a 2.9-litre BiTurbo V6 petrol that generates 600Nm of torque. This model is capable of 0-60mph in approximately 3.9 seconds, yet remarkably the powertrain is also the cleanest in its class thanks to an electronic cylinder disabling system.

Alfa Romeo’s DNA selector system is also fitted to put buyers in control of the car’s behaviour depending on the mode that is selected.

The new Giulia range will go on sale in the UK this September, and full details will be available from Lipscomb Alfa Romeo as soon as the carmaker announces them. Find out more about the manufacturer’s entire range by enquiring online or by phone today.
