What is Motability?

The Motability Scheme is an initiative that enables eligible recipients of government mobility supplements to exchange their allowance for the lease on a brand new car. In order to qualify, you should have at least 12 months’ award remaining on your allowance, which you can then use to secure a new vehicle from the likes of Abarth, Fiat, Jeep and Volvo. The scheme also features a number of additional benefits including full road tax, insurance, breakdown cover, servicing and maintenance, and more.

Find out more about the benefits of driving electric In order to qualify for the Motability Scheme, you should be in receipt of one of the following benefits with a minimum of 12 months’ award remaining:
● Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
● Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
● War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
● Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
In addition, if you are the parent or guardian of a child aged three or over and whom is in receipt of the allowance, you will be able to lease a vehicle on their behalf.
