The Volvo S60 Concept Car gives a good indication of what the brand new Volvo S60 will look like when its introduced during 2010. The design of the car is elegant, natural and flowing. The lines do not stop abruptly, but simple seem to continue on. The slim roofline and window graphics are accompanied by an entirely new lateral shoulder line, forming a gentle double wave. The rear doors open up sideways along the body of the car to its end position by the rear wheel simply be pressing a button. The angled headlights that flow up into the sculptural bonnet combined with the lower air intake's reverse trapezoidal shape, reveal an almost animal-like expressive face. These and other, inspirational touches such as the bulbs in the headlights, which are sculpted as two miniature Viking longboats sailing side by side, are details that make the car what it is - dynamic.
The S60 Concept Car's debut took place at the Detroit Auto Show on the 11th January 2009. If you didn't have the chance to experience it firsthand you can see the whole thing by clicking here now.
