What is a service?

A vehicle service is an inspection that ensures your car is running smoothly and efficiently. It covers a range of components and systems, and offers recommendations for work that may be required in the near future.

What is covered in a service?

The elements covered by your service depend on the type of service you’ve opted for. All services will include visual checks of the bodywork and wheels, as well as inspections of the gearbox and brakes. Often, a service could include:

  • Change of engine oil and oil filter
  • Checks on the exhaust system
  • Brakes and steering checks
  • Fluid and coolant level checks/top-ups
  • Suspension checks
  • Car battery checks
  • Electric and hybrid models may have additional inspections carried out on their motors and battery. Speak to our aftersales team today to learn more about what your Fiat service will include.

Can my car fail a service?

Your car can’t fail a service, but following the service there may be items that we’ll recommend you attend to. We’ll notify you, for example, if your tyres are reaching the minimum legal limit, or if your brake pads will need replacing in the near future. All this will help to ensure your car continues to run smoothly.

    What is an MOT?

An MOT is a yearly inspection that ensures your vehicle meets the minimum safety standards required by law. Every vehicle over three years old is required to have one, and it is illegal to drive a vehicle that has failed its MOT, or to continue to drive one with an expired MOT.
