Fiat debuts its 500S at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show

Fiat’s new 500 grabbed plenty of attention when it was unveiled in the UK in September 2015 – and now you have another 500 iteration to get excited about. The sporty 500S debuted at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show to give potential buyers and the motoring press a good look at what will be arriving in the summer.

The 500S stands apart from the standard 500 with sports bumpers, bespoke side skirts and a rear spoiler. Meanwhile, the door handles, tailgate and 15-inch alloy wheels are all finished with a Satin Graphite shade. Completing the racing theme is a chrome-finish exhaust pipe and a striking rear grille.

In typical 500 fashion the interior has a bold look with contrasting colours featuring throughout. Black seats and roof lining stand out against the door panels and seat edges which come in blue, white or yellow. More Satin Graphite features are found on the dashboard facia and sports steering wheel, with the option for leather as a luxury addition.

On the dash is Fiat’s latest Uconnect LIVE system with a seven-inch touchscreen display. With tablet-like controls, it is simple to take control of many standard infotainment functions via the system. Alongside Fiat’s LIVE services you can enjoy a Bluetooth® hands-free interface, voice controls and a number of music playback options such as Bluetooth® streaming, DAB radio and USB input.

There is no official word on the engine choices, but reports suggest Fiat’s 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel will be available with 84bhp or 104bhp. You will be able to read full details on the 500S’ specification here on the Lipscomb Fiat news pages as soon as we know them.

The model will go on sale during the summer, and you can take a test drive once the first cars arrive at our Maidstone and Cantebury showrooms.
