The Abarth F595 builds upon the existing 595 hot hatch, making it even hotter while retaining the vehicle’s distinctive charm. This limited edition variant celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Abarth Formula Italia Championship race car, designed by Carlo Abarth in 1971. And despite its athletic prowess, it’s perfectly suitable for everyday motoring.
Also available as a convertible, the three-door, four-seat F595 rides on 17-inch matt-black-finish alloy wheels as standard, each fitted with red brake calipers. The vehicle bears bespoke F595 badging too, as well as a striking quad-tailpipe configuration, which further enhances its sporty character. The F595 is supplied with a classy Campovolo Grey paint finish or, if you wish, you can choose from a range of optional colours, including Abarth Red, Gara White, Record Grey and Scorpione Black.
The vehicle is propelled by a 1.4-litre 165hp Turbo T-Jet petrol engine, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. This delivers a peak torque of 230Nm, enabling it to race from 0-62mph in just 7.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 135mph.
The F595’s growling engine sound is emitted through Record Monza Sovrapposto vertically stacked exhausts. Yet, despite its potency, the car’s supercharged turbo engine manages a creditable 42.2mpg, making it more economical than many rivals.
Technology and safety
The Abarth F595 comes with a standard 7.0-inch touchscreen, and a sound system that includes DAB digital radio, AUX and USB ports and Bluetooth connectivity. The latter not only facilitates audio streaming, it allows hands-free phone communication too. Driver aids include rear-mounted parking sensors, plus the Abarth Koni suspension kit, which improves driving pleasure whilst increasing safety, offering better road holding, manageability and stability.
