Motability adaptations

​If you need specific adaptations for your Motability vehicle, there are plenty of options to choose from. The Scheme offers around 500 adaptations, many of which are free of charge when fitted at the beginning of your lease. These can make driving and access easier, or help you stow items such as a wheelchair or scooter. ​

How do I know which adaptations I need?

Modern vehicles are fitted with a range of features that can help you have the best possible driving experience. From automatic gearboxes to boots with flat entry, many people’s needs can be met simply by choosing the right car. If, however, you have specific difficulties when driving, tailored adaptations can be useful.

For driving, you may need mechanical hand controls, steering aids, or an electronic accelerator, while access can be made easier with transfer plates or swivel seats. For stowage, there are solutions such as a boot hoist or rooftop stowage.
